“When I was asked to pick just three attributes that describe Maia, it was difficult because she is superlative at all of them! In any case, she was our architect for our kitchen renovation last year. From the beginning of just throwing around ideas, Maia was great to work with. Creative, flexible, patient, very knowledgeable. We wanted to be eco-friendly and Maia was an invaluable resource in terms of materials and services. She recommended the contractors we choose- who were also wonderful. This made the whole process seamless, easy, and a pleasure. I highly recommend Maia!”

“You were engaged by our company recently to perform design and architectural services for a complete reconfiguration of the office of one of our tenants at the address above. The task was complicated by the fact that the additional adjacent space was being added. Further, you had to negotiate the various interests and needs of the principals. That meant filling the needs of the tenants while designing the space and selecting the components to conform to a reasonable budget.

We were very pleased with the quality and efficient delivery of your work product and certainl recommend you to others with similar needs.”

“Maia gave me some ideas that will be easy to implement but will make a big difference in efficient use of space and will make our home feel more comfortable and restorative. Some of her ideas were out of the box but spot on in terms of how my family lives; some might have been more obvious to others (but were not obvious to me). She also helped me envision how we might change things and improve the footprint of the house in a future renovation project we are considering, without disrupting the style and look of the house. Maia has a lovely, calming manner and style, and working with her is very enjoyable. Her integrity is obvious - it's just who she is. I recommend her to anyone who wants help improving how their home looks, feels, and is used.”

“Please accept this letter as a note of thanks for your assistance in the renovations of my historic (1749) home in Maplewood, as well as a postscript to renovations we carved out of the original plans for cost reasons.

I expressed to you one overriding concern that you truly respected throughout the design process; that is, my home’s ‘feel’. A home of this vintage must be honored for its special place in the community’s history. I am most appreciative that you recommended and took the time to research the home’s skeleton. We discovered such treasures as a kitchen hearth beneath three inches of concrete; as well, hidden, hand-hewn beams.

But, we were not designing a museum, but continuing a vibrant living space. In that vein, you carefully designed a kitchen that melts into the structure. It is beautiful, functional, but does not overwhelm nor interfere with the special sense one receives in the home. The lighting mimics soft candlelight, and adds to the feel without compromising utility.

Because of the detail of your design, I successfully tabled barn renovations due to budget constraints. Now that I am able to renovate that structure, town officials could rely on prints already on file with them from the main renovations.

In sum, I thank you for listening to my needs, providing an expert design and helping me honor a very special home.”
